Foundation in the Summer
I am always on the search for the perfect foundation and while the weather is warming up, I still want some coverage on my face. Lately, I've been using the Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Illuminating Serum as a primer/tinted moisturizer with their Micronized Clay Finishing Power with PM20 to set and soak up any shine and am very happy with it so far. I also apply some concealer under the eyes on days when I need it -- being a mom to a 2 year old who still wakes up in the middle of the night, I pretty much need it everyday. This combination smooths out my skintone and minimizes my pores without too much coverage. The Illuminating Serum has a bit of shimmer and color but isn't very noticable. Also, the shimmer is very light -- there is chunkiness nor tell-tale glitter specks. The Finishing Powder is white but once you brush on, it doesn't give you a white cast. I like to use my flat top bronzer brush to swirl, tap and brush on this product.
On days that I want a little more coverage, I use the new mark. Min-a-real Cream to Powder Foundation. I apply this after the illuminating serum using the mark. foundation brush and gently brush it on concentrating on areas that need to be neutralized due to redness (cheeks, side of nose). Min-a-real will also double as a concealer on days when I'm too lazy to open up another product or when I'm in a rush. This is billed as a mineral foundation formulated with Lumiskin complex to help smooth, brighten and even out skin tone and I definitely think the claim is valid. I love that this product feels really light and makes my skin look smooth and luminous without me looking greasy or oily. If you'd like a sample of Min-a-real to try, please register at my online store here and send me a message requesting a sample.
