10 Summer Beauty Must Haves

Summer is just a day away!

Most of us love the sun and catching our share of some Vitamin D but it's important to remember that too much sun can not only damage our skin but our hair as well.  Our skin is the most largest organ in our body and it's important to take care of it so you can continue to look fresh as you age.

Here are my top 10 must have summer beauty products to keep you looking your best!

mark. Change is Gonna Come Body Exfoliator - If you don't already use a body exfoliator, you do not know what you're missing!  Summer means sweat and sunblock so at the end of the day, you want to remove all the gunk buildup on your skin just like you would on your face.  It buffs off all that dirt, build up and dry skin leaving your skin smooth like silk.  I use Change is Gonna Come in the shower all over my body and sometimes my face too.  You just want to be careful around the delicate eye area.  After showering and applying body lotion, your skin will be oh so smooth.

Coppertone Sport Sunblock with SPF 50 - Sunblock is necessary staple for summer.  It helps to prevent getting sunburned which in turns helps reduce  .  An important thing to note is that sunblock should be applied at least every hour to really get protected.  Apply more often if you're sweating a lot or in water.

Banana Boat Soothing Aloe After Sun Gel - If you get sunburned (or windburned), gel from an aloe vera plant will do the trick to soothe it and speed the healing process.  If you don't have access to an aloe vera plant, a bottled gel will do just as well.  This one by Banana Boat is inexpensive and lasts a really long time.

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer - For summer, I don't like to wear too much makeup (seriously, the sun shining on a caked up face is not very flattering) so I opt for a tinted moisturizer instead.  It gives a little bit of coverage while still looking natural.  This one by Laura Mercier has thicker consistency than most tinted moisturizers out there which I really like because I don't feel like I'm just putting on face lotion.  It also has a higher SPF which is always a good thing.

Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder in translucent & Bronze - I use the regular translucent formula to set the tinted moisturizer and to help keep shine at bay throughout the day.  The bronze formula is great applied as a bronzer or to set foundation/tinted moisturizer for deeper skin tones.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Exposed - A great naturally nude shade that will flatter most skin tones.  You can build up coverage if desired and the blush stays put until the end of the day.  For some depth, I like to layer another shade like MAC's Pink Cult on top of this to really make the color pop a bit.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara - The original Lights, Camera, Lashes is my favorite HG product so for summer, the waterproof mascara is a must as well.  It lengthens and volumizes lashes -- all while in a waterproof formula. Genius!

Chapstick Ultra with SPF 30 - People tend to forget that their lips need sun protection too!  To ward off fine lines on and around your lips, protect the delicate skin with some SPF.  This one from Chapstick has a light citrus scent and has SPF 30!

Palladio Rice Paper Oil-Absorbing Blotting Tissues - If you're like me and get oily in your T-zone area mid-day, carry these oil-absorbing blotting tissues with you.  Sure you can use regular face tissue but it will remove some of your makeup too.  This one from Palladio has a little bit of rice powder built in so it also deposits a bit of powder while you blot up the oil.  It comes in three shades to accompany a wider range of skin tones: translucent, warm beige and natural.

Aussie 3-minute Miracle Deep Conditioner - With harsher weather and conditions (sun, heat, chlorine, etc), our hair needs some TLC during the summer too!  I like to use the Aussie 3-Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner every other day in the shower.  Since I have long hair, I mostly concentrate on moisturizing the ends which tends to be dryer than hair closer to the scalp.  I apply after shampooing and rinse after washing my body.  It leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth and the coconut smell is divine as well.

I did not include water on the list but it's important to continue to stay hydrated throughout the day, especially during the hot summer days!
