Wearing glasses seem to be the cool thing now but I remember when glasses were considered the ugly stick.  I blame that on Hollywood.  Glasses have long been associated with nerds and unattractive people (also apparently nerds were unattractive too according to Hollywood).  Glasses were also a disguise that once one puts on, takes on a whole other identity and blends into the background (see: Clark Kent/Superman).  The solution to making a nerd look good was to take off their glasses (see: She's All That).  Unfortunately, I had an experience with this phenoma as well.  I won't get into too much detail but let's just say that as a teenager, the guy I had a crush on didn't notice me until I took my glasses off in class.  It was like a cheesy teen movie.

I'm pretty sure that little event pushed me into getting contact lenses.  Nonetheless, I've always had a love affair with my glasses.  Without it, I would be blind as a bat and gosh darn it, glasses made me look smarter!  So when I saw this dress, I knew I had to get it.  The whimsical cat eye frames inspired me to put my glasses back on, even if just for a day.  Four eyes, unite!!
