I love wearing dresses and skirts but I have an unlady like urge to slouch in my chair and sit like a guy so I decided to wear pants this today and prevent myself from flashing innocent bystanders.  That and because the weather has been nice enough around Sacramento that you don't start forming sweat beads once you step outside of the house.

We took a short trip to Santa Cruz and had a nice relaxing beach weekend there.  The weather was breezy again but still a bit warm.  The water, on the other hand, was freezing but became tolerable after our skin became numb with cold.  The one thing I forgot about coastal beaches are how smooth the sand is near the ocean.  I was getting use to rocky sands of Folsom Lake and when I first stepped my bare foot on Santa Cruz beach, I was in heaven!  Add in some warmth from the sun beating down on the sand all day and the rhythmic waves crashing and I was ready to take a nice nap on the beach.  It was a good thing I didn't because I didn't realize how strong the sun's rays were with the breeze going and all.  I always try to put on sunscreen when I know I'll be out in the sun (not including workdays when I get to hide in my cubicle 8 hours a day) but between all of the excitement, I forgot to put on sunscreen and burnt my chest and a bit on my face. Oh well, at least we had fun.
