Today is my birthday.  As I reflect back on life, I realize that even though I've racked up another year on this wonderful earth, I still feel like the same little kid who loved to play with her Barbie dolls and jump off rooftops with the neighborhood kids.  Except now I have bills to pay and children of my own to take care of...and my body would kill me if try to do half the acrobatic things I did as a kid.  Still, there are some benefits of growing older: you have more self-confidence, care less about what others think, and you look better (all those years of experimenting with makeup and fashion helps).

Sure there were some missed opportunities and wrong turns made along my journey to 30 but I'm right where I need to be.  And as they say, life is an adventure!  I still have many more decades to go with plenty more life experiences to learn from and accomplishments to achieve!

Wherever you are on the age spectrum, don't compare yourself to others around you and think you have to have certain things by the time you're a certain age.  I know it's much harder not to nowadays with social media everywhere but as Michelle Grano from Thought Catalog so brilliantly put it: "Ages are not milestones. Milestones are milestones. You are what you have experienced. Not how long you’ve been around."

So go on, live your life your way.
