We're all aware that not all mirrors are created equal. Some mirrors can make you look shorter and heavier while others make you look leaner and taller (I'm talking about you dressing room mirrors). They say beauty is all in the eye of the beholder but now
skinny is going to be in the reflection of a certain mirror. Belinda Jasmine created the "Skinny Mirror" using a curved glass to make the person appear 10 lbs lighter. So in a sense, the mirror tricks the person into thinking they look one way when in reality they look a different.
Jasmine says the Skinny Mirror will help boost self confidence. I say your self confidence will be based on a lie with the Skinny Mirror. We all like to play little tricks on ourselves to kick a bad habit. I use to set my clock five minutes ahead so I would wake up earlier and get to work earlier, but it didn't really work. I was always aware of that extra buffer time I put in there so now I just have to remind myself what time it is when I'm getting ready in the morning. With the Skinny Mirror, I think you'll always be aware that you don't really look like what's being reflected back. Plus, if you're like the most of the people who ventures outside of their house, you're going to encounter a mirror that doesn't have the skinny effect so you know you're bound to see yourself in an different reflection.
Maybe I'm just too much of a realist but I prefer the cold hard truth. If I'm not looking the way I want to look, I want to be aware of it so I can be proactive and make some changes to my habits or wear a different outfit. I don't want a mirror to show me a lie that only I will see.
What do you think about the Skinny Mirror? Would you be interested in owning one?
