The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday and as usual, I was more interested on the Red Carpet coverage than the actual show (I did, however, catch the "twerk" heard around the world).
Most of the celebs played it safe but there were a few that caught my eye.

Model Coco Rocha let the Fausto Puglisi embellished leather jacket shine by keeping everything else simple: black t-shirt, black jeans, and black pumps. Makeup and hair looked great as well, very rocker chic.

"Lights" singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding's gown was on point. The spikes might have been painful but with the hair and dress, the entire look was really fitting for the event.

Selena Gomez played it coy in a peek-a-boo bustier gown. It was a little more risque than usual for the actress/singer but still maintained class. Selena looked stunning as usual.

Taylor Swift goes retro glam with Marilyn Monroe-esque curls and signature red lips. I like how she has been switching between her usual princessy look on the red carpet with this more sultry look. Which look do you prefer on Taylor?

Actress/singer Ariana Grande looked adorable in a fit and flare floral dress by Project Runway alum, Kenley Collins. It's sweet, girlish and totally age-appropriate!
